4 Amazing Reasons Your Journey Starts Here

April 14, 2018 by

Why do we do the things we do?

Every journey begins with a decision to do something, to take a step in a certain direction. The best decision any of us can ever make is to decide to further our relationship with God.

Whether you are a new believer or you have been walking with Him for many years, a few days in the Word and the tangible presence of God can begin a new adventure with Him.

Here are 4 amazing reasons your journey starts here:

  1. The Word of God is alive and active. There’s nothing more important in your life than getting God’s Word deeply rooted in your heart. It then becomes the source for everything you are and everything you could ever need in your life.
  2. It has the power to transform your life. Because the Word is alive and active, it will change you effortlessly. The only effort required is to get it into your heart!
  3. It reveals your purpose and your destiny. Even if you are not called to full-time ministry, you are called to make a difference in your sphere of influence. Knowing all that God has placed inside you will affect you and those around you.
  4. The Word of God equips you to change the world. There are so many hurting people in the world who have no idea that they are loved. When you are equipped, you can change a life, a nation, and ultimately the world in which we live!

It all begins with a choice—a choice to plant the truth of God’s Word in your heart. Making a decision to take a step toward Jesus and experience Charis, not just the Bible College, the ‘charis’ of God (the grace of God), will change your life. And when you change your life, you change the world.

That’s why your journey starts here!

How Can I Know That God Loves Me?

April 10, 2018 by

This is Part 2 of a blog series based on Barry Bennett’s book, Did God Do This to Me? It gives straightforward, biblical answers to many important and frequently-asked questions about God and His Word.

Accepting God’s love is a perpetual struggle for mankind.

Man by nature (sinful, fallen nature) assumes a position of unworthiness and guilt. All of man’s religions are built on the concept of fear, ignorance and guilt.

That is why Christianity is so unique. Rather than a fearful, guilt-ridden man reaching up to a mysterious, angry God, Jesus came down to us to show us the Father. He reconciled Himself to us, took all of our sins and their judgment on Himself and freely offers us His life!

We have a hard time dealing with this. We feel we must do something to be accepted by God. But the love of God declares that He did it all for us.

Love gives, and Love forgives.

To see and comprehend love, you only have to look at Jesus. He is God’s love manifested. He healed all who came to Him. He forgave sin, fed the multitudes, raised the dead and taught us how to live. Jesus is our picture of love. Jesus loves you, and there is no difference between Jesus and God. Jesus is God manifested in flesh.

Pray the following prayer, adapted from Ephesians 3:16-19. Pray it daily, meditate on it and believe that God will reveal His love to you.

“Father, grant me, according to the riches of your glory, to be strengthened with might by your Spirit in my inner man; That Christ may dwell in my heart by faith; that I, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that I might be filled with all the fulness of God.” (Eph. 3:16-19).

As you spend time with Him and ask Him to reveal His love to you, you will begin to get a revelation that will transform your life!

“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” —1 John 4:16

Should I Go to the Doctor?

February 3, 2018 by

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21

Duane Sheriff:

It is absolutely amazing the faith people have in the words of a doctor!

When they say you have this disease or that sickness, they don’t question it. They don’t doubt it. They don’t wrestle with it. They just receive it. Why can’t we approach the Word of God the same way?

Jesus, our Physician, says, “Hey, I’ve got good news for you. You’re healed!” Don’t question it. Don’t doubt it. Don’t wrestle with it. Just receive it.

We should never repeat what the doctors say over people. If someone says something like that over you, just flat refuse to receive that curse. It’s a curse, and it can’t come without cause. I’m here to tell you there is no cause. You’re healed in Jesus’ name!

I had to get a checkup once, and I didn’t even check the results of that checkup. There was one negative thing in that report, and my wife, Sue, mentioned it to me. I gave her ‘that look,’ and she knew not to ever bring it up again. I don’t care what that report says. I am healed!

Andrew Wommack:

We’re not saying that anybody who goes to a doctor is bad or that doctors are bad. Thank God for them. If you say, “Well, Duane and Andrew don’t go to the doctor, so I’m not going to go,” and if you don’t have your faith where ours is, you’re liable to die!

Please, don’t misunderstand. We are not against doctors.

You know what? I’m not against veterinarians, but I wouldn’t take my dog to the vet. You know why? Because I don’t have a dog. If you’ve got a dog, maybe you need to take it to the vet.

In the same way, if you believe you’re sick, well, then go to the doctor. But if you believe you’re well, then believe you’re well.

Know and say that you are well, and release the power of life!
