What age do I need to be to join Distance Education?
It is recommended that you are 16 years old before you join Distance Education.
Can I study Years 2 and 3 through Distance Education?
Distance Education is only available for Year 1 students. Years 2 & 3 need to be undertaken on campus at one of four Charis UK locations (Walsall, Exeter, Yorkshire & Dumfries).
Which study formats are available in Distance Education?
Charis Online and eCharis are two available formats in Distance Education.
If I reside in the UK, which formats are available in Distance Education?
Charis Online and eCharis are available to prospective students who reside in the UK.
Do I have to reside in the UK, if I want to study Year 1 in Distance Education through the eCharis format?
Yes, you will need to reside in the UK if you choose to study Year 1 in Distance Education through the eCharis format.
Will I be going on a mission trip for my Year 1 course?
No, you will not be expected to go on a mission trip during Year 1 of Distance Education. However, it is a mandatory requirement that every student goes on a mission trip whilst on campus during the Year 2 programme at Charis Bible College.
Is there a time limit for completing the course?
We recommend that every student completes the course, no earlier than 6 months and no later than 24 months. We recommend completing Year 1 within 2 years because studying the Word helps to build a solid foundation and results in you seeing the transformation and fruit in your own life.
How can I meet with other Charis Distance Education Course students?
Distance Education holds monthly Zoom group meetings, where one of the Distance Education team members will lead you through Andrew’s – Discipleship Evangelism course. You will also meet fellow students alike where you will be able to connect, receive encouragement and prayer. These meetings take place throughout the month.
Is there any other required reading on the course for Distance Education students?
Yes, there is a bible reading plan provided for you upon signing up. Every Year 1 student must read the Bible in Year 1.
What qualification will students receive at the end of Year 1?
Upon completing Year 1, students will receive a certificate of promotion onto the Year 2 programme.
